The Lean-o Geno

 

A healthy, vegan "milkshake" that will make you feel great

(Serves 2-3 people)

Ingredients:

  • 2 cups almond milk
  • 3 tablespoons cacao powder
  • 1 teaspoon maca
  • dash of cinnamon
  • 1 tablespoons chia seeds
  • 2 frozen bananas
  • 3 dates, pits removed
  • 1 avocado
  • 1 tablespoon almond butter
  • 3/4 cup crushed ice

Directions:

Combine all ingredients in a high-powered blender, in the order listed.  Enjoy!

The Ho Ho Hale

Makes one drink

Ingredients:

  • 2 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder, such as Ghirardelli
  • 1 tablespoon cane sugar (or more if you like it on the sweeter side)
  • 1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup milk (dairy or non-dairy)
  • *Splash of Bailey's, if you're feeling extra festive!

Directions:

In a small saucepan over medium-low heat, whisk together the cocoa powder, sugar, and 1/4 cup of your milk, until the cocoa and sugar are dissolved into the milk.  Then, add the rest of your milk, increase the heat to medium, and stir until the mixture is hot.  Add your vanilla extract and serve.

Makes one glass

  • Go to your local camping store (we recommend REI) to pick up well-fitting boots and ice picks.
  • Head to Mt. Palomar
  • Carefully climb up Mt. Palomar
  • Pack snow into a container. (Pro tip: Pack more snow than you think you'll need. Trust us, you'll want leftovers!)
  • Carefully climb back down. Remember: Mt. Palomar is not a slide. Please be careful.
  • Put the snow-filled cooler in the fridge, to let it melt down
  • Strain to remove any rocks or twigs
  • Pour into a glass and enjoy!

Juan Pablo Di Latte

 

Makes one latte

  • 1 medjool date (pit removed)
  • 1 cup of decaf brewed coffee (6-8oz; use caffeinated coffee if you'd like!)
  • 1/4 cup of unsweetened vanilla almond milk
  • Dash of pure vanilla extract

Set the date at the bottom of a blender, near the blade. Pour the coffee over it, then the almond milk, and vanilla extract. Blend on high, until you get a smooth, frothy mixture. Pour into your For Love of Show mug and enjoy! 

The Kait-a-Rita

(Makes one serving)

  • 1 shot (or more, we won't tell!) of your favorite tequila (we used Patrón)
  • 1/4 of a cup of Kreation Juice's "Destress" juice
  • Dash of simple syrup
  • Lime La Croix (to taste) + water, if needed
  • Lime wedge

Start with a glass of ice.  (You can also get fancy and salt the rim of your glass).  Measure out (or not) the tequila into the glass.  Next, pour in your juice & simple syrup and give it a stir.  Then add some La Croix and/or water and give it a taste, based on your "strong'" preference.  Finish with a fresh squeeze of lime juice and add it as garnish on the side of your glass!

Note:  You do not have to use a juice by Kreation, of course.  Replace it with your favorite juice!  I recommend finding one that's cold pressed, as this process allows for all of the nutrients to stay put.  Might as well get something out of your tequila besides a good time :)

Bring the Couli-ade

This recipe came from Epicurious

(Makes 8 servings)

Ingredients:

  • 2 ripe peaches (about 1 1/2 pounds total), pitted and coarsely chopped
  • 1 1/2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice
  • 1 1/2 tablespoons sugar, or to taste
  • 1 (750-ml) chilled bottle Prosecco or other sparkling wine
  • About 1 1/2 cups seltzer or club soda, chilled
  • Garnish: mint sprigs

Directions:

  • Purée peaches with lemon juice and 1 1/2 tablespoons sugar in a blender until smooth. Blend in more sugar if desired. Strain through a fine-mesh sieve into a pitcher, pressing on and then discarding solids. Stir in Prosecco.
  • Pour into 8 (10-ounces) glasses filled halfway with ice. Top off with seltzer.

Cooks' note: Peach purée can be made 1 day ahead and chilled (it will be slightly less vibrant).

The Hagen-Bev

Ingredients:

  • 1/2 cup watermelon, diced
  • 1/2 cup strawberries, stems removed and diced
  • 3 or 4 cans of your favorite flavor of La Croix (we used lime)
  • Fresh mint leaves (about 1-2 small leaves per drink), either muddled at the bottom, or juices extracted from the leaves.

Directions:

  • Using a blender, combine the watermelon and strawberries, until they become a thick consistency. Set aside.
  • Muddle the mint leaves at the bottom of your glass - you can either leave the muddled mint or take the leaves out with the juices still at the bottom. Pour your La Croix into the glass and add ice.  Pour about 1/4 of a cup (or a little more, if you'd like it sweeter) of the watermelon/strawberry mixture and stir.  Enjoy! (Hopefully it goes better for you, then it did for me!)

(Makes 1 drink)

  • 1 can of lime La Croix
  • 1/2 fresh squeezed lime juice
  • 2 mint leaves (to be muddled)
  • 1/2 inch fresh ginger (grated & juice squeezed from the pulp)
  • Honey to taste (approximately 1 teaspoon worth)

Directions:

Muddle the mint leaves at the bottom of the glass, add lime juice, ginger juice, honey, ice, and top with your can of La Croix.

(Makes approximately 4 drinks)

Ingredients:

  • 1 bottle of your favorite champagne
  • 1 cup of cranberry juice (100% juice, preferably organic)
  • 1 organic orange (cut into slices of 4 or 6, peels used for garnish)

Directions:

In a champaign glass, pour champagne to your liking, then add a splash of the cranberry juice, a squeeze of your orange slice, and garnish it with a peel.
